1. Click on Settings and Global Settings > Attendance
2. Under Display Mode in the upper left, select the Days or Hours and click Save > OK > Close
--NOTE-- It isn’t required, but we recommend that you set your Display Mode to the same increment of time that you wish to accrue Time-Off.
- If you set your Time-Off accrual plans to accrue Time-Off in “Hours” we recommend that you display your time in “Hours”.
- If you set your Time-Off accrual plans to accrue Time-Off in “Days” we recommend that you display your time in “Days”.
Important exception to the above recommendation:
If you have employees who work days of differing lengths such as some who work 8 hours a day and others who work 7.5 hours a day or 10 hours a day or 6 hours a day etc, we recommend that you accrue Time-Off in ‘Days’ no matter how you display your Time-Off. No matter how you accrue Time-Off’ the program will always display the correct amount whether in Days or Hours.
Displaying your time in Days will not prevent you from entering an absence code onto the calendar of less than a day. You can use the convenient buttons at the top for ¼ Day, ½ Day, ¾ Day to adjust the length of an absence or you can adjust the length of the absence by right-clicking on the absence and selecting Absence Detail. You may then adjust the number of hours associated with the absence to what ever you want down to the ’thousandth of an hour. Just be aware that the numbers shown have a decimal point not a colon for hours and minutes. An hour and 15 minutes would be entered as 1.25 hours. Then click OK and the length of the absence will be rendered correctly in Days.
EXAMPLES:
If you enter an absence of 1.25 hours and the employee selected works an 8 hour day the program will indicate that the employee was absent .1562 Days that day. If the employee started with a balance of 10 Days, the balance resulting from this absence would be 9.8438 Days.
If you enter an absence of 1.25 hours and the employee selected works a 10 hour day the program will indicate that the employee was absent .125 Days that day. If the employee started with a balance of 10 Days, the balance resulting from this absence would be 9.8750 Days.
