Backing up the data:
--NOTE-- You have two ways of backing up the data and one way to restore data.
-
To backup data from within the program click File > Backup. You will be notified when the backup is complete.
- To backup data when you can’t open the program go to the server’s desktop and click Start > All Programs > HRcalendar > Backup/Restore and click Backup. You will be notified when the backup is complete. (This only applies to HRcalendar Enterprise)
To find the backup you've just made, navigate to c:\Program Files\HRcalendar Software\Data Backup Or C:\Program Files (x86)\HRcalendar Software\Data Backup (Windows 7).
The backup will be assigned a date and time stamp and the extension “.bak”.
EXAMPLE: ABSDATA01-01-2013-1626.bak
Restoring Data from a previous backup:
--NOTE-- To protect your current data we recommend that you perform a back up first because when you restore, you will completely replace all current data with the data being restored. See back up instructions above.
--IMPORTANT!-- Backups must reside in the local Data Backup folder to be restored.
Copy the backup file on the new computer to: c:\Program Files\HRcalendar Software\Data Backup Or C:\Program Files (x86)\HRcalendar Software\Data Backup (Windows 7)
- From within HR Calendar click on File > Restore to get a pop-up window listing all of the backups in your Backup folder.
- Select the appropriate backup and click Open.
- Reopen HRcalendar to view the restored data.
Path to the database:
C:\Program Files \ Microsoft SQL Server \ MSSQL.1\ MSSQL \ Data
The two files that constitute the database are:
- Hrcalendar.mdf
- Hrcalendar_Log.LDF
